The new Liver Transplant Unit will provide advanced treatment for end-stage liver disease, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances and improving access to life-saving care for patients from Odisha and neighbouring states. The facility includes a dedicated liver transplant operation theatre, a highly advanced intensive care unit, and a speciality clinic for structured post-transplant follow-up.
The robotic surgery system will support minimally invasive procedures across multiple specialties, enhancing surgical precision, reducing recovery time, and setting new benchmarks for technology-driven care in the public health system.
Senior officials from the Ministry and AIIMS Bhubaneswar joined the event. The developments align with the Government’s commitment to strengthen advanced healthcare infrastructure and expand equitable access to quality medical services.
